Hard Water? KalGUARD+ : The Solution

|
IMPORTANT Building Regulations
Part L of the Building Regulation has always stated that any building over 200ppm of water hardness needs to be treated.
Under the latest version of Part L they have added some supplementary information see below : -
Supplementary information in Table 1 – Part 4
• Lime scale can be controlled by the use of
- chemical lime scale inhibitors,
- combined corrosion and lime scale inhibitors,
- polyphosphate dosing,
- electrolytic scale reducers
- or water softeners

Limescale Problem?
|
+ Hurlstone Associates' Solution
|
= KalGUARD+
|
KAL-GUARD+ (patent pending) is an enhanced scale inhibitor, based on WATERMATIC's proven zinc anode electrolytic design and now incorporates advanced electronic controls to fine tune its performance. Tests at Cranfield University confirmed that KAL-GUARD+ provides a reduction in limescale on heating surfaces of 80%...

Commercial Condensafe
Condensafe C4000 - is a new system (patent pending) designed to eliminate the environmental impact of acidic water discharges reaching the waste water handling system of the utility companies.
Condensate discharge from the new generation of condensing boilers and water heaters is at a pH of 3.8 to 4.5 and is outside the range permitted by most water authorities. Discharge between a pH of 6 and 11 is generally permitted.
The Condensafe discharges water after neutralising it, of between pH 7 to 8.5. This is safe to discharge to waste water drains. The Condensafe is a periodically changed ‘in-line’ PVCu pipe work construction holding sufficient neutralising media to handle approx 4,000 litres of ‘condensate’ at pH4.

Filters
WATERMATIC's WaterKLENZ filters are used to support our KalGUARD+ range.
The pre filtering of mains water before entering the KALGUARD+ unit, enhances performance and results. WaterKLENZ filters operate using a specially designed disc filtration technology.
Thin polypropylene discs are diagonally grooved on both sides to a specific micron size. A series of these discs are then stacked and compressed on a specially designed spine. When stacked, the groove on top runs opposite to the groove below, creating a filtration element with a statistically significant series of valleys and traps for solids.
The stack is enclosed in a corrosion and pressure resistant housing. The spine and disc set are removable and washable unlike most filters, this limits on-going replenishment costs.
During the filtration process, the filtration discs are tightly compressed together by the spring's power and the differential pressure, thus providing high filtration efficiency.
Filtration occurs while water is percolating from the peripheral end to the core of the element.
